The popular New Excelsior Backpacker is located in an enchanting historic building right in the heart of Christchurch's new urban hub, the High Street shopping and entertainment lanes.
This hostel offers an warm and friendly environment with all the benefits of an inner-city location. It is nestled amongst popular bars, cafes, restaurants and boutique shopping, and is only minutes walk to Cathedral Square, the arts centre, museum and art gallery, public transportation, movie theatres and supermarkets.
All our spotlessly clean rooms are non-smoking. 24-hour check-in can be arranged upon demand, and guests have 24-hour key access to the hostel.
We are small enough to provide a relaxing and comfortable stay, yet large enough to boast some great facilities. The New Excelsior has a large kitchen and dining room, and a comfortable lounge room with a big screen tv, free videos and DVDs.
