Easy access by bus, car, foot or bike to all the Lakes, Mountains and Towns in the Lake District

Many fine mountain and valley walks, both easy and strenuous, start from the hostel doorstep.

Ambleside's has a good choice of restaurants, cafés , pubs and a beautiful church. It offers good shopping, particularly for art, gifts and outdoor gear (not to mention a great chocolate & fudge shop!), and good book shops.

Most dorms have views of the Fells, and are fitted with washbasins. (and a carpet, - one even has a chair too!!!)
