Graignamanagh is about 30 minutes from Kilkenny city.

Rainbirds is situated within a 5 min walk of Graiguenamanagh, the Village of the Monks, which lies in the heart of the Sunny South East and celebrated its 800th anniversary in 2004. This property is an excellent starting point for those wanting to explore the Medieval capital of Ireland-Kilkenny with its Norman Castle-as well as the former Viking port city of Waterford, the bustling cosmopolitan Norman town of Wexford and the thriving market town of Carlow.Superb shopping awaits you in all four towns.

The village with its river Barrow flowing through is also a delight for fishing enthusiasts and for walkers, who can explore the many beautiful lochs along its banks. For the more energetic, Brandon Hill is situated just outside the village and cannot be beaten for its view on a clear day. The Blackstairs mountains and Mount Leinster are also close by. There are excellent pubs and restaurants in the village as well as the neighbouring villages of Borris and Inistoige.
