Property description
We have a delightful guest house set in a private walled courtyard in the hamlet of Nieuillet situated between the market towns of Civray and Ruffec. We are ideally located for house hunters, journey breaks on route to Spain and Portugal and even for those looking for a relaxing break away.
We have three large bedrooms available FOR A MAXIMUM OF SIX ADULT GUESTS PER NIGHT.
All of the bedrooms are fully furnished with tea and coffee making facilities and are elegantly decorated with bedding and towels included to make your stay more comfortable.
SUPERIOR DOUBLE BED PRIVATE ENSUITE*
Has a large super king-size bed with an en-suite (inc. shower), a working log fireplace, a two-seater sofa and a prime location within the house as it looks out onto the private courtyard. The room can also accommodate two 'put-me-up' beds (€15 Each) which makes it ideal for children staying with parents.
DELUXE DOUBLE BED PRIVATE ENSUITE*
has a large super king-size bed with a large en-suite (inc. shower).
DELUXE 4 BED PRIVATE ENSUITE*
Has two separate double bed rooms which are adjoining with a super king-size bed in one and a double bed in the other. They share a spacious en-suite bathroom with shower that makes the rooms suitable for two couples.
DELUXE 6 BED PRIVATE ENSUITE*
Books the Whole B&B six adults and two children up to the age of 16 , Please note the 2 children would be on put me ups in the Superior Double Bedroom and is an aditional €15 each.
A Travel cot is available at no charge but is only suitable from Birth to two years. / Please notify us know after booking if you require the 'put me ups' or travel cot. (Put me ups wont be shown on the invoice but will be charged on arrival)

The private guest lounge holds original features such as the beautiful Charente fireplace with a wood burner and limestone flooring. There is also an English TV with Sky Freeview, DVDs, books and board games to entertain you. The guests also have the use of a drinks chiller as well.
The dining room is in the large entrance hall with an original limestone floor. The table can seat up to 10 people and converts easily into a snooker/pool table. Breakfast is included with the price of the room and evening meals are available upon request at an additional cost of around 10-15 euros per person.
There is a large hanger in the courtyard for covered secure off-road parking. The courtyard is south facing and a sun trap with sun loungers around the pool that are available in season. Please note that children cannot use the pool unless supervised at all times by an adult. Other outdoor activities you can take advantage of is our table tennis table and if you're feeling fit, we have two mountain bikes to hire out.
PLEASE NOTE: WE CAN ONLY ACCEPT CASH AND FRENCH OR ENGLISH CHEQUE PAYMENTS AT THIS TIME.
All of our rooms are non-smoking and unfortunately we do not accept any pets. We do however accept children.
Check-in times are 13.00-17.00, but we are flexible and ask if possible for our customers to please let us know when to expect them by dropping us an email after their booking.
Check-out times on day of departure are 11am.
If you need to cancel your booking then we ask for a minimum of 48hours before the day you are due to arrive. Failure to do so, your credit or debit card will be charged for the first night of your stay.

The picturesque Charente river runs through the nearby village of Vouleme that has a bar/restaurant within walking distance (10 minutes). The nearby village of Saint-Macoux has a swimming lake with water slide and bar/restaurant. Another close village is Lizant which a cozy bar which sells pizzas 3 nights a week and there's even a fish and chip shop down the road.
Other local attractions you can keep yourself busy with are... Fishing in the Charente, horse riding at the equestrian centre, canoeing in Ruffec and visiting the monkey sanctuary at La Vallee des Singes. If you fancy going a little further a field here are a few other attractions that are about an hour away:
Futurescope - high-tech theme park
Green Venice - the second largest wetlands in France
Cognac - visit the cognac distillery that is open to the public
Oradour - a historical World War II village which has been left untouched from when the Germans massacred nearly all of the inhabitants
Angouleme and Poitiers - both have fantastic architecture, museums, cafes etc.
La Rochelle - a little further but well worth a visit to the sandy beaches with great surf and many shops and places to eat.
