Pineapple Park Kona is an affordable and comfortable hostel in Captain Cook, Hawaii. Our Kona accommodations are located ten miles south of Kailua-Kona and above Kealakekua Bay in Captain Cook. Our affordable Captain Cook inn is ideally located for exploring the west side of the Hawaii island. We are close to Kealakekua Bay, one of the most pristine kayaking and snorkeling places in Hawaii. Guest receive discounts on kayak and snorkel gear.

Captain Cook is one of the most beautiful and historic places in Hawaii. Kayak along dolphins to the village site where Captain Cook was mistaken for the Hawaiian god, Lono. Rent a kayak from Annie and in ten minutes be in Kealakekua Bay kayaking over to the Captain Cook monument to see dolphins or snorkel in the fish refuge. Pineapple Park is ten minutes to the Place of Refuge archaeological site and Two Steps/Honaunau snorkeling/diving area, and 20 minutes to the sandy beach of Ho'okena. Or drive north and explore the Kona coast beaches. A minimart and restaurants and the bus stop are in walking distance of the hostel. More grocery stores, a hardware store, galleries, coffee or chocolate plantations tours and a post office are one mile away.

The guests really enjoy the community kitchen and being able to cook their own heated food and keep it in the big commercial refrigerator. They meet and visit with travelers from all around the world. Enjoy the sunset from the large lanai upstairs looking out over the ocean. There is a BBQ grill in the patio area and a video player in the community kitchen.

If you don't plan to rent a car you can still travel around the island by taking advantage of the free island wide bus service. Pineapple Park Kona and Pineapple Park Hilo are both accessible by bus routes.
