Erin, Melody + Staff,
We have had the best time at Lily Pad. The rooms are great and the beds + sheets + blankets are the best l have had in 7 months of travelling around the world! The Hot Pot Meal was so good and so much food. It was a great chance to meet other guests and it felt so much like a home. L love your dogs too! The little shy black one is the cutest! We suggest you call him 影子 (yingzi)Shadow. It really reflects his personality and color!
Thanks again!

Been an absolute delight staying with some wonderful, always happy and helpful people at the Lily pad. Arriving on Christmas Eve, what a fabulous banquet treat we were given with such a warm and friendly welcome. Travelling with two children throughout China, at times can be a little challenging but your place and the service provided certainly made things much easier and most enjoyable. We will recommend the Lily Pad as the place to stay while visiting Dali.
Many thanks and wishing you continued success.

I stayed only 6 days at Lily Pad but the nice hospitality and kindness of staff was amazing. After a month in China I finally felt like HOME. I will strongly recommend to my friends and partners, whenever passing Dali, this is the place to stay.
Thanks to Melody and staff.

The Lily Pad was one of the first hotels l stayed in China., and it certainly set the standard. I chose it through hostel world because it was out of the old town and would be quiet. And what a restful, peaceful place it is--close enough to the hubbub and the cafes, bars, but also so close to the Cangshan Mountains that you feel nature all around you.

I have spent several weeks here, on and off, using it as a base for trips with fellow travelers to Tiger Leaping Gorge and the amazing ancient city of Shaxi--a must for those interested in the traditional and historic Tea & Horse Caravan route. I have also stopped here--to pick up my big pack and consolidate--before heading back south from Zhongdian to Kunming and Xishuangbanna.

Erin has been extremely helpful in every way possible--from find out information, booking tickets and even helping to recharge my mobile phone. Everything is super-clean and nothing is too much trouble. I have really enjoyed my stays and in particular helping in some small way with ideas for signage and maps.

I hope to return next year in Spring. I hear the flowers are spectacular.

just so you'll know- we are staying here so long only becouse we feel at home here. actualy, when we went to the mountains we were always thinking about coming back to this home.. it's a great feeling, after a long time on the roads, to know that we have someone that is waiting for us somewhere. :)

I already told my family that it's the best guest house we have ever been in, from all the guest houses in India, Nepal and China (and I have been in a lot:)).
