Paradise…. The first ever Backpackers Resort in Bolivia - right in the heart of The Pantanal. Spectacular views, an enormous swimming pool and brand new private and shared accommodation.

Tamengo is more of a resort than a hostel, and with over eleven thousand square meters of land - lose yourself in the choice of activities you have OR the places you could hide and relax!!!

With such close proximity to the Pantanal, relax in shaded hammocks while enjoying the 5-star views and bird watch! You may see Toucans, Parrots or Eagles flying by.

Newly constructed, and with plenty at your fingertips, you will find a variety of large, comfortable air conditioned private rooms, with and without private bathrooms, plus our (just completed) super budget dormitory.

Breakfast, linen hire and internet (WiFi available as well as our own computers) are all included free with your accommodation.

Heading to Santa Cruz on the 'Death Train'?? Stay and relax by the pool at Tamengo - we have brokered a deal with Ferroviaria Oriental (The train company) to enable us to purchase a next day reservation on any train (from the cheapest to the most 'luxurious', provided they are running of course) - and we won´t charge you a cent extra for it, its all part of the service you can receive when you stay with us.

Be careful of vendors offering tickets on the Brazilian side - the train leaves from Bolivia not Brazil, unscrupulous people may charge extra, or take your money and run. We also have all the latest info on any strikes or political activity that may prevent travel - which the other side of the border may not inform you of.

NOTE: If immigration is closed, you can still cross to the border town of Quijarro. You can cross between Quijarro and Corumba without entry and exit stamps - just return when it's open and don't go beyond these towns. (You may encounter some Brazilians who tell you that you cannot cross the border - they will earn commission from the accommodation they recommend you to stay in!!)
