Warm welcome in our cozy 'Tibetan Monastery' called Nomad.
Our Guesthouse & Café are situated in the picturesque old village of Shuhe, which is a superb place from where to explore Lijiang (at a louzy 6 km) and surroundings. Nomad Guesthouse offers comfortable rooms as well as budget accommodation for intrepid travelers, backpackers and cyclists in a quiet, rather loungy atmosphere. Both the courtyard and the second floor terrace are peaceful places to read a book from our collection, or have a drink while gazing at the magnificent snow capped Yulong Mountain. Staff is of an international variety and is eager to help you to find your way in Lijiang and the near environment. Trekking Tiger Leaping Gorge, Canoeing Lugu Lake, Cycling Dali, visiting Tibetan families on the grasslands around Shangri-la (Zhongdian), Naxi Open Air Theatre...
Shuhe still breathes those tranquil Naxi vibes that have been trampled by the crowds in Lijiang Old Town. So we show or accompany you on the trials in the hills (that start just 400 meters from our door) for an early morning hike.
Nomad Café serves (European) breakfasts, healthy, vegetarian dishes, 100% freshly squeezed fruit juices, freshly grounded coffees and a variety of bakery sweets in a Tibetan style, smoke free environment. Real whole weat bread? Yep, fresh from our oven. All these ingredients have been highly appreciated by customers in our Lhasa based Nomad Café as well. Our 'dhamma hall' can be used for practicing meditation, or to increase your knowledge about Buddhism by reading a book from our large Buddhism collection. Besides making your stay a most memorable and comfortable one, helping those in need is what we care for at Nomad Guesthouse & Café. For this aim, we donate a considerable part of income to various charity projects.
