Property description
My name is Aji Alex and I am your host at Mannaas Veedu. I would like to introduce my family and myself to you in brief.. I was born in Kerala and after my graduation completed my hotel management from PUSA Institute, Delhi. Thereafter I worked in various capacities in the hotel industry for the past two decades.
I started my carreer with ITC and later took up the challenging job of operating and marketing single ownership properties right from Ooty to Agra and Jaisalmer, Trivandrum .It was my dream to make a house in my native Kerala in the traditional native Architecture which has now been realized with the blessings of my parents, in the form of three bedroom Nalkettu house having central courtyard with all modern amenities but keeping in mind the traditions of the local architect and the ancient science of Vastu thus creating MANNAAS Veddu.
My mother Mrs.Thankamma Joy is a housewife who loves to cook and host people while my father Mr. Joy Alexender is a retired Army Officer who loves spending his time in domestic farming and is very passionate about his cattles and pets. They are totally dedicated in running the house with love and passion with help of skilled manpower.
We also have an old family house which is in the same compound and is about 125 yrs old and which we can boast that, it is the oldest house in the village where two rooms are open for the guests.
We have different divisions under the umbrella brand Mannaas.

Mannas Veedu -Where Tradition meets excellence
Mannaas veedu is constructed as per Vasthu Shastra ( Science guidelines prescribed by the ancient Rishis ) where each moment of staying is memorable and peaceful. The House is constructed in Nalukeetu-is the traditional style of architecture of Kerala, wherein a house has a quadrangle in the centre.
Nalukettu is evident in the traditional homes of the upper class homestead where customs and rituals were a part of life and we follow the same meticulously in Mannas Veedu
This ecofriendly mansion is created using wood, latrite stone and manglorian tiles, central open courtyard and wondrous architecture. The interiors of the house are tastefully decorated with a wealth of antiques made from teak, and mahogany etc.
We offer a Apart from our own farm visit We arrange Spice plantation visit to Thekkady 3hrs drive from Mannaas Veedu. Over twelve varieties of spices are cultivated in and around thekkady. The spice plantation tour covers spice plantations such as cardamom, pepper, vanilla, clove, nutmeg etc. and also some ayurvedic plants and herbs. The duration of the trip is normally one to two hours. The service of an experienced guide will give full and detailed explanation of the plants and its uses.

» Elephant Safari
This programme offers one a rare opportunity to experience the safari on an elephant. The 30 minute safari is through a spice plantation where the gentle breeze refresh one with the spice-scented air.
» Aranmula
Aranmula has been declared as an international tourism destination by the Union Government. The famous Parthasarathi temple on the banks of the holy river Pamba, and dedicated to Lord Krishna attracts thousands of devotees. During Onam Festival there take place the famous aranmula boat race in the river Pamba. The special Aranmula boats are known as 'Palliyodam'.
And is also famous for Aranmula Kannadi (Mirror) , is made from a metallic mixture by a traditional family. In Aranmula there is also a Vasthu Vidya Gurukulam is situated.
» Kadammanitta
Kadammanitta is famous for the padayani which is an important ritual art form performed in the premises of the Kadamanitta Devi Temple. This art form is an offering to the mother goddess.
» Kaviyoor
The Kaviyoor Mahadeva temple which was constructed in the early years of the 10th century is one of the oldest of the Mahadeva temples in Kerala. Hera is also a Hanuman Temple.
Thekekudi Cave Temple in Kaviyoor is one of the rare type of cave temple in Kerala. This temple is constructed in the Pallava architectural style and was built in the 8th century. Apart from Ganapathi, Maharshi, Dwarapalaka idols in the sreekovil which in inside the cave, there is also a Sivalinga which is about three feet in height .
» Konni
Konni is famous for the Elephant training place . Konni comes under the forest area is a beautiful place to visit.
» Kakki
Kakki reservoir, set in sylvan background, is a 'tourists' delight. The splendid artificial lake offers exhilarating boating experience . The surrounding forest abounds in tigers, elephants, deers and monkey.
