San Juan is home to the Mercedario Mountains, a Mecca for climbing enthusiasts, and the second highest mountain in all of the Americas.

Cuesta del viento - a place with excellent conditions for windsurfing between October and April the wind reaches speeds of up to 60 knots, a must see for windsurfers from around the globe. From the lake you can observe the peaks of mountains as high as 5000m.
