Property description
A modern premium class apartment for spending quality holiday time in the popular tourist destination of India, the Pink City of Jaipur. It is an ideal holiday apartment for foreign tourists interested in cultural experience of staying with a local family.
City. Jaipur is a major attraction for foreign tourists arriving in India. With its rich cultural heritage, the Pink City of India lives to its legendary fame for conservation of traditional Indian culture and values.
Accommodation. It is a 650-sqft (60 sqm) apartment located on the first floor of our house in Chitrakoot, Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur. The apartment has an air-conditioned master bedroom with attached bathroom; a separate, furnished kitchen attached to dining-cum-drawing space; and a balcony with a cloth line. It is connected with a terrace garden and a large covered porch measuring 4 m by 6 m. The apartment is furnished with basic necessities including television, refrigerator, microwave oven, and washing machine. The in-wall audio speakers let you enjoy TV shows and music with surround sound environment in the bedroom.
Special Features. The apartment is a part of our newly built (2006-07) house which is noted for its aesthetic as well as green features. The house has been designed and built with functionalist minimalist philosophy while keeping all the green building technologies and features in mind. It uses thermal insulation in walls and roof to reduce electricity consumption in air-conditioning and heating, solar geyser to heat water that is supplied throughout the house, rain-water harvesting to fill the backyard swimming pool and to irrigate the front garden and the terrace kitchen garden. The house has been built using reconstituted wood only, thus avoiding the expensive natural woods, without compromising on aesthetic or functional values.
Location. Ideally located in a residential neighbourhood of the city of Jaipur. Distance: 7 km from Railway Station, 14 km from the City Airport.
Services. Included are twenty-four hour hot-and-cold water supply, electric supply with power backup, piped kitchen gas supply, direct to home TV service, and DSL Internet connection. Personal library of the host, including the CD/DVD collection, and the kids' pool in the backyard of the house can also be used by the guests.
Add-on Services. It is possible to have guests picked up from the Airport or Railway Station. Housework including cleaning and scrubbing, washing of clothes, and services of cook can be arranged upon request.
Languages. Languages spoken in the host family are Hindi (mother tongue), English, and French. Personal profiles of the host family members can be seen here.
